Professor Dog Jan 19 : 01:13PM Went to Winter Park on Monday. Lots of wind, but excellent powder. Many unused trails in Mary Jane. Berthoud Pass closed at about 12:00. Drove all the way round to Silverthorn, and could not get up to the tunnel. Just as well, because I-70 was closed at Georgetown. Spent the night in silverthorn, and finally made it back 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.
Qtele Jan 17 : 03:50PM Went to Breck, powder was pretty good...traffic was crazy. Thank goodness I left at 11, only waited 45 to get to the tunnel instead of 2 and a half hours for the people who left after 2pm. MLK day was great on the slopes!

The Slippers-N-Sliders Ski Club, a nonprofit organization, was established in 1972 to promote the sport of skiing in the Colorado minority community. Each year since 1974, the club has, with the assistance from local ski areas and businesses, sponsored its Ski For Kids program.
Who Benefits
Ski For Kids provides an opportunity for inner city children to learn to ski. The program consists of four to six consecutive Saturdays of intensive, fun-filled ski lessons on the slopes. Each child is provided with free skiing lessons, equipment, lunch, transportation, and appropriate clothing (if necessary). At the end of the season, there is an awards banquet recognizing their achievement. The children selected for the program are from families that could probably never afford to provide such opportunities for their children. Participants are referred to us by community agencies such as the Red Shield Community Center, local elementary schools, churches, and concerned individuals. The children range in ages from seven to eleven years old.
We Need Your Help
The cost of the Ski For Kids program is primarily covered by the sale of advertisements in the souvenir brochure and other contributions from local businesses and individuals. 100% of the proceeds from the souvenir brochure goes to the Ski For Kids program.
Slippers-N-Sliders Goals
Since 1974, the program has accommodated over 1400 youth. The size and the viability of the program is directly dependent of the level of financial support we received from our supporters. This is an important program for the Metro-Denver community and is our way of giving something back.
